Western Australia Golf Club

   Welcome

The Senior Golfers' Society of Western Australia acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of this land on which we gather, the Whadjuk people of Noongar Boodjar.

We extend our warm greetings to all interstate members and their partners and look forward to meeting many of you over the course of your visit.

This is the 28th running of the McIntyre Trophy and the first to include Lady Seniors.

We also take great pleasure in showcasing our State and introducing the excellent golf venues that Perth has to offer. We are confident that you will find these venues impressive, challenging  and enjoyable.

While staying in Perth, we encourage you to relax and engage in the activities available. This is a wonderful opportunity to create new memories and form lasting friendships with your fellow golfers and guests. Enjoy your time in our beautiful city and make the most of this unique event.

We have been fortunate in attracting several  local sponsors who's assistance I wish to acknowledge.

Their details and further details of the event can be seen when registering.

Welcome once again, and may this event be a memorable and enriching experience for everyone.

President David Coster

First played in 1969, and evolving from interstate matches between Victoria and NSW, this biennial gathering is the major and only event involving all of the Australian Societies. It is hosted in turn by each of the States with the last event held in Adelaide 2024. The trophy was donated by CJ (Jack) McIntyre, a former Champion, Captain and President of Metropolitan Golf Club.

Played over two days, in a 4 BBB format with pairings comprised of members from different States, the Trophy is awarded to the State with the best average members' score. Victoria currently holds the trophy.

Commencing on Sunday 3 May with a lunch for members and partners who have participated in international tours, the formal Cocktail Party that evening starts the festivities for all participants. Golf will be played at Lake Karrinyup Country Club on Monday and Mt Lawley Golf Club on Tuesday. Partner golf will be played at Western Australian Golf Club and Lake Karrinyup Country Club on the alternate days. The final dinner and presentations will be held on Tuesday evening in the Riverside Ballroom at the Novotel Langley Plaza.

Formal excursions have not been organised for non-playing partners, companies such as Pinnacle Tours offer a range of local and nearby tours. See. western-australian-tours for some options.

The Western Australian Society has organised special rates at the Novotel Murray Street in the Perth CBD.  Novotel is a major sponsor of the event. The rates are available for up to 3 days prior to and after the event.

We encourage you to register at your earliest convenience to assist us with planning the 2026 event. You can register via the button below
